Other Ways to Cut Down Paper in Your Office

Resource Data Management helps companies cut down on paper in the office by moving paper documents and records into scanned digital copies, when can be stored on a hard drive. But what about the other types of paper you might encounter in your office? You may feel that some paper in the office is absolutely inevitable. To that, we say: take a few of these tips into consideration.

Send online faxes. Instead of printing out documents and walking over to the fax machine, why not use an electronic faxing service instead? You'll save on paper and printer ink, and you won't need to spend money on a secondary phone line for your fax machine.

Enter business card info into an online contact service. Business cards are nice if you want a quick way to get someone's contact info from them, but that doesn't mean you have to keep it forever. Most smartphones can now sync contact information online. Enter your info and have it synced to your phone so you no longer need to keep the physical card around.

Send information to your smartphone. Some Web browser plugins allow you to send a Web page you're looking at to your mobile phone, so you can take the information with you wherever you go. This means you can skip the printing process and cut back on your paper and ink usage.

Use an online collaborative document service. A lot of paper is wasted sending documents back and forth between co-workers for edits. Using an online document service like Google Docs allows many different people to work on one document simultaneously, without the need to print anything out.
