Document imaging is software technology that takes hard copies of a document and digitizes it, which allows the document to be copied, edited, indexed, shared and printed from any computer.

The document imaging process has two steps: a document (or picture) is scanned, and this is transformed into a text file stored in a document database. The process only takes a few minutes from start to finish.
